Overview

SystImmune is a leading and well-funded clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company located in Redmond, WA and Princeton, NJ. It develops innovative cancer treatments using its platforms for bi-specific, multi-specific antibodies, and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). The company has assets in various stages of clinical trials for solid tumor and hematologic indications and a robust preclinical pipeline of potential cancer therapeutics. The company is seeking a creative and motivated

Protein Design Scientist

or

Senior Scientist

to join the

Computational Protein Design

group. As part of the early scientific team, this individual will help execute and improve the Computational Protein Design pipeline using data-driven approaches to support SystImmune’s first-in-class multi-specific programs. Responsibilities

Execute and improve a computational design pipeline for predicting the properties of peptides, natural ligands, de novo proteins, and antibody-based elements via data-driven approaches. Drive assay validation, tech transfer, and development initiatives to maintain industry standards; contribute within the computational protein design group to operate yeast display-based protein discovery platforms. Design new macromolecular therapeutics using structural and sequence analysis, and use in silico predictions to iteratively guide lead development. Analyze, interpret, document, and present data to the scientific and leadership teams. Collaborate within a cross-functional team to contribute to the company’s vision. Qualifications

PhD (or equivalent) in bioengineering, biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field. 8+ years of experience using yeast libraries to generate protein binding or therapeutic antibodies. Experience solving problems related to peptide and protein design, modeling, and sequence/structure-function prediction, with macromolecular modeling software (e.g., AlphaFold, RoseTTAFold, RFdiffusion, ProteinMPNN, Gromacs, MOE, Schrödinger). Expertise in screening and ranking antibodies (ELISA, multi-parametric flow cytometry, BLI/OCTET). Proven contribution to therapeutic antibody development and selection is desirable; designing and validating novel biologically relevant antibodies is highly desirable. Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, and skills. Offers may be toward the higher end for exceptional candidates. SystImmune offers a comprehensive benefits package including 100% paid employee premiums for medical/dental/vision, STD, LTD, a 401(k) plan with a 50% company match of up to 3% and a vesting schedule of 5 years, 15 PTO days per year, sick leave, and 11 paid holidays.
