Affiliate Instructor, Mechanical Engineering Technology at Metropolitan State University of Denver. The Department of Engineering and Engineering Technology invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. Responsibilities
Teach part-time in Mechanical Engineering Technology, in person or online as assigned. Prepare course materials and lesson plans; deliver content to students; assess and grade student work; provide timely and robust feedback. Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies. Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment. Ensure instruction aligns with the approved course syllabus and department policies; participate in department course coordination if required. Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. Demonstrate adaptability to new modes of instruction and sensitivity to diverse student needs. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Four years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with four years of relevant experience or Doctorate Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Not eligible for University benefit coverage; employment dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates may be expected to teach in person on campus upon hire. Salary
