Overview Outpatient Imaging - Germantown

Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Ultrasound Tech to float for our Outpatient Imaging who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. Responsibilities

Performs ultrasound exams as needed. Assumes responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all patients in the sonographic area/department.

Establishes protocols in conjunction with the radiologists and ensures staff adherence to them.

Initiates cost saving measures with Manager and Director’s approval.

Demonstrates ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records, and adapt sonographic examinations as necessary.

Coordinates with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided. Anticipates patient’s needs and exceeds expectations.

Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician.

Maximizes patient throughput and demonstrates teamwork with coworkers by managing patient workload.

Reports equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor or staff member and completes associated forms. Follow through on work requested.

Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations. Maintains schedule and prioritizes exams. Uses computer systems (Cerner, Viewpoint, McKesson PACS and RIS) correctly to document patient information.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Graduate from Accredited Diagnostic Medical sonography program

2 years preferred

RDMS with AB and or OB/GYN certification

BR – Breast Ultrasound Certification preferred

RVT (Vascular) preferred

Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule Position to float to our varying Outpatient Imaging locations in Rockville, Germantown, and White Oak, Maryland as needed for coverage.

3 days/month minimum

Pay Range $37.17 - $55.76

If the salary range is not displayed or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Classification Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as: United States of America (Non-Exempt)
