MRI Technologist, $15K Sign On Bonus Required EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Licenses and Certifications: BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment; Upon Hire and (ARRT-MR) Magnetic Resonance Imaging American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) Upon Hire Preferred Experience 2 years of MRI experience Shift : Thurs, 8AM-9:30PM; Sat-Sun, 6AM-8PM Job Duties
Review physician orders for accuracy, diagnosis, sedation, and applicability to the MRI protocol. Screen patients for MRI appropriateness and review contraindications. Discuss findings with the physicist and radiologist as applicable. If modification of a MRI protocol is necessary, consult with radiologist to determine appropriate sequences, parameters, etc. Document changes in the electronic health record. Ensure other resources such as nursing have been scheduled accordingly. Interview patient (two patient identifiers), conduct patient screening and obtain medical history pertaining to the procedure\'s clinical criteria. Explain procedure and instruct patient on necessary requirements. Answer questions on procedures and IV contrast. Assist the physician as needed in performing procedures. Ensure images and records are properly completed with patient identification data and proper labeling. Utilize technical knowledge to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with age-specific criteria. Complete exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner. Administer intravenous injections of contrast material as appropriate and observe for adverse reactions. Perform MRI ensuring patient safety and meets MRI contraindications. Assist patient in dressing for the exam and attend to patient well-being during transport and positioning. Instructs/communicates with patient and/or family regarding tests and evaluates patient tolerance. Perform QC testing and report problems with MRI systems and workstations to service personnel; notify physicist and imaging leadership as needed. Maintain data sets and archives; perform data calculations and statistical analyses following QC standards for digital images; participate in accreditation imaging requirements. Perform post-processing on MRI systems and remote workstations (e.g., MIP, MPR, 3-D rendering, diffusion imaging analyses, and cardiac analysis). Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs. Respond to inquiries timely; communicate shift handoffs and share workload equitably. Participate in orientation and training for new hires and students. Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient care; prioritize exams to ensure workflow efficiency and address urgent requests. Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, department goals, patient satisfaction, and fiscal responsibility regarding equipment and scheduling. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure security of workstations. Core functions may include: a) Direct interaction with or care of human-subjects research participants; b) Maintaining, modifying, releasing, or affecting human-subjects research records.
