Overview
Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions. The role is with Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care in the Connecticut area and offers a sign-on bonus for external candidates. We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers. Responsibilities
Examining and treating patients Taking patients’ medical histories Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays Making diagnoses and prescribing medications Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting Recording progress notes for follow-up patients Educating and counseling patients Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care Working a shift of approximately four, eight or twelve hours as assigned All other duties as assigned Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required for Physician Assistants; Master’s Degree required for Nurse Practitioners Work Experience: 2–5 years of post-residency clinical experience; minimum 18 months in applicable practice setting; adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred Licenses/Certifications: National Certification; active state medical licensure Additional: Urgent Care or Emergency Room experience; proficiency with appropriate office procedures (suturing, splinting, etc.) Preferred: Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records; strong listening, communication and customer service skills Benefits and Compensation
