Assistant Professor- Part-Time in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
Job Summary: The Medical College of Georgia (MCG), Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism within the Department of Medicine is seeking a part-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, to serve as an Endocrinologist. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care, medical education, and research in endocrinology, particularly in the areas of diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other endocrine-related diseases. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive clinical care in endocrinology, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with diabetes, thyroid disorders, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, and other endocrine diseases. Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows in the field of endocrinology. Engage in collaborative research in endocrinology and related fields, with opportunities to develop new research initiatives and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Contribute to the academic and administrative activities of the Division of Endocrinology, including participation in departmental meetings, committees, and academic conferences. Participate in outpatient and inpatient consultations, as well as endocrine-related clinical trials. Mentor junior faculty, residents, and fellows in their academic and clinical pursuits. Required Qualifications: MD, DO, or equivalent degree. Board-certified or board-eligible in Endocrinology. Completion of an accredited fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. A strong interest in clinical teaching, medical education, and mentorship of students, residents, and fellows. Research experience in endocrinology or related fields, with a demonstrated ability to publish scholarly work. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in academic medicine, including teaching and mentoring medical students and residents. Research expertise in diabetes, thyroid disorders, metabolic bone diseases, or other endocrinology subspecialties. Interest in developing a focused research program within endocrinology.
