This individual will work with our local and national team to grow our ports and maritime business; further client relationships with commercial port authorities, terminal operators, shipping lines, and shipyards; and contribute to our national project execution capabilities. Responsibilities include:
Deliver a range of heavy civil projects, from port utility and roadway infrastructure to stormwater management design, always looking for better ways to serve our clients and grow your skills and portfolio. Manage projects that require diverse services, knowing we have 12,000 engineers, scientists, technologists and communication professionals to support nearly any project task. Lead teams through challenging designs and schedules, mentoring staff and ensuring quality work. Discover and implement innovative solutions, collaborating with designers and in-house construction teams. Communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders, translating complex concepts and inspiring enthusiasm. Help clients understand how schedule and budget impact design decisions, providing honest and valuable input. Lead teams with accountability, flexibility, and organization, paying attention to details. Identify and analyze business development opportunities, cultivating relationships with clients, customers, and contractors. Participate in regional trade associations and professional organizations. Serve as the senior civil engineer for waterfront projects. Coordinate activities across disciplines and manage project resources and sub-consultants. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program and 7 years of civil engineering experience, EPC project experience preferred. Or Bachelor's in civil engineering technology with successful FE exam completion and 7 years of experience. Or Master's degree in civil engineering with 6 years of experience. Knowledge of civil engineering design guides and general business/financial calculations. Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Office, and Project. Strong communication and presentation skills. Expert knowledge of engineering techniques, procedures, and analysis programs. Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating tasks. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and team collaboration skills. Ability to perform quality reviews and travel as needed. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and until filled.
