We are seeking an experienced

Mechanical Engineer

specializing in

HVAC and plumbing design

for commercial, industrial, municipal, residential, and institutional projects. The role involves designing complex systems, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and managing projects from initial design through construction administration and commissioning. Key Responsibilities

Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, ductwork and piping layouts, and system design. Design energy-efficient retrofits and energy management systems for various building types. Prepare mechanical construction documents, including drawings, specifications, reports, and feasibility studies. Conduct site surveys to evaluate existing systems and integrate new designs. Ensure designs comply with industry standards and codes, including Florida Building Code, National Plumbing Code, SMACNA, ASHRAE. Oversee permitting, bid preparation, budgeting, and contract administration during construction and commissioning. Collaborate with architects, contractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure coordinated, on-time project delivery. Provide expert technical advice and problem-solving to resolve design and field issues. Mentor and coach engineering staff, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development. Monitor construction progress, review plans, approve equipment, and ensure compliance with specifications. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida preferred. 8-10 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing system design and project management. Strong knowledge of industry standards including Florida Building Code, National Plumbing Code, SMACNA, ASHRAE. Expertise with system design software, CADD, and Microsoft Office Suite. Proven analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Effective communication and organizational abilities. Ability to travel for site surveys, scope walks, and meetings. Benefits
