Provide quality drug distribution and clinical pharmaceutical care for patients and house staff within established guidelines and statutory requirements. Prepare, distribute, and handle pharmaceuticals; provide drug information and general drug therapy monitoring within the Renown Health System. Bridge distributive responsibilities of the pharmacy with clinical responsibilities to ensure medications are dispensed in a timely, accurate, safe, and cost-effective manner with the assistance of technical staff. Monitor drug therapy in areas such as parenteral nutrition, pharmacokinetic monitoring, renal dosing, and IV to oral medication conversion; recommend appropriate drug therapy to physicians and monitor therapy for desired outcomes per protocol; initiate formulary policy procedures. Communicate with physicians and nursing staff regarding drug therapies in an appropriate and effective manner. Ensure accuracy in the preparation of medications, records, labels, and documentation in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations, and hospital policy. Maintain, update, and monitor each patient\'s medication profile and ensure timely and accurate processing of all patient charges. Assist in the training of pharmacists, technicians, interns, and students; supervise pharmacy interns, students, and technicians for accuracy, policy adherence, and workload coordination. Serve as a resource to management for quality initiatives; act as a liaison between nursing and pharmacy; provide information to improve and enhance services. Work varying shifts and days to meet the needs of the Department of Pharmacy (24/7 operation); overtime may be requested. Attend staff meetings and pharmacist meetings on a regular basis. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Working-level knowledge of English; completion of a Pharmacy Clinical Practice Residency or equivalent training in clinical pharmacy is preferred. Experience: Applicants with previous hospital pharmacy experience will be given preference. Licenses: Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Pharmacist license. Certifications: Healthcare BLS within the first 90 days of employment; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within the first 90 days of employment for location 200211. Computer/Typing: Proficient computer skills or ability to obtain within 90 days; 25 WPM typing. Seniority level
