Job Summary Performs all required ultrasound and clinical tasks at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Assists the Supervisor with the daily operations of the vascular laboratory and training staff as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations.
Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
Coordinates work schedule with Supervisor/Director and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverage.
Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while in the technologist/sonographer's care.
Assists with the daily operations of the vascular laboratory.
Required Qualifications
Vocational or Technical training in Vascular Technology required. Bachelor's degree in Vascular technology preferred.
ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) required. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association; Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
5-8 years related work experience required.
New hires must provide BLS certification within 30 days of start; certification must be with the American Heart Association (AHA).
Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

Problem Solving: Ability to address varied problems through analysis and interpretation using general precedents.
Independence of Action: Ability to follow precedents and procedures; may set priorities and organize work within general guidelines.

Knowledge: Working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures, and policies.

Customer Service: High level of professional, service-oriented, respectful patient care; active listening and problem solving; remain calm in stressful situations.
Age-based Competencies: Competent to provide patient care to Young Adult (16-30), Middle Age (30-60), and Elderly (60+).
Physical Demands: Heavy work; capable of handling significant physical exertion and long periods of standing/moving.
