Ultrasonographer II Daytime Rotating Schedule

Overview Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and select vascular exams. Ensure high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Interact daily with patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff to coordinate care and communicate findings. Maintain equipment and follow proper protocols for ultrasound operations and infection control.
Responsibilities
Reviews charts, selects appropriate equipment and transducers for tests as ordered. Interviews patients, explains procedures, eases apprehensions, and positions patient appropriately.
Records images on PACS, and provides images on film and paper when needed. Provides preliminary interpretation and may convey preliminary interpretation to requesting physician after discussion with radiologist. Views screen to detect pathology/other factors and determines images appropriate for diagnostic purpose.
Performs routine clerical duties, answers phones, schedules patients, orders supplies, distributes results, keeps work area clean, and makes entries in computer.
Performs high level disinfection of ultrasound transducers and follows infection control protocols. Annual refresher training is completed after initial training.
Required Qualifications
Vocational or technical training in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required. Associate's degree in Ultrasound preferred.
Registration in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
0-1 years related work experience required.
New hires will have 30 days to provide BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
ARDMS certification in Abdominal and/or OB/GYN specialties.
Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).
Schedule Includes occasional weekend shifts. Participation in on-call and holiday coverage as needed.
Pay and Benefits Pay range: $48.00 - $71.33 per hour. The listed pay range is the base hourly wage the organization reasonably expects to pay at this time; actual compensation is determined based on factors such as seniority, education, training, experience, certifications, geography, and job responsibilities. Pay may include shift differentials, call pay, overtime pay, and other applicable pay practices in accordance with the law.
