Overview
Emory University is seeking a full-time Hematopathologist - Molecular Genetic Pathologist at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine. The position is at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will join a collegial, expanding team of hematopathologists in the Section of Hematopathology within the Division of Clinical Pathology. Board certification or board eligibility in Hematopathology is required; additional board certification or eligibility in Molecular Genetic Pathology is highly preferred but not required. Responsibilities
Provide diagnostic expertise in hematopathology with potential involvement in molecular genetic pathology. Share clinical service responsibilities with other molecular genetic pathology faculty who review approximately 1500 targeted NGS panels for hematologic neoplasms and solid tumors. Support the hematopathology group in reviewing annual volumes including bone marrow, lymph node specimens, flow cytometry immunophenotyping, single gene molecular diagnostics, FISH, and cytogenetics studies. Participate in multidisciplinary leukemia/lymphoma conferences and contribute to training and education of fellows, residents, medical students, laboratory staff, and allied health science students. Engage in clinical, translational, and collaborative research opportunities within the department. Qualifications
Board certification or board eligibility in Hematopathology. Additional board certification or eligibility in Molecular Genetic Pathology is highly preferred but not required. Eligibility for medical licensure in Georgia. Strong diagnostic expertise, excellent interpersonal communication and teaching skills, and a commitment to academic scholarship in hematopathology and, if applicable, molecular genetic pathology.
