Key Responsibilities Have an excellent driving history! (Mandatory)
What does it take to work at Environmental Restoration? Pass a Pre-Employment drug screening, criminal background check, and physical exam. Legally eligible to work in the United States (Verified through E-Verify) Willingness to obtain OSHA (40 hour) Certification. Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments.
Environmental experience, hazardous waste experience and certification (i.e., OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER)
Qualifications A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university, or a minimum of three (3) years technical experience identifying chemical and/or hazardous characteristics of oil, petroleum, hazardous and radiological substances, biological hazards, and polluted and/or contaminated material and debris, and applying the relevant transportation and disposal regulations when arranging/coordinating T&D activities.
OR A minimum of eight (8) years of technical experience identifying chemical and/or hazardous characteristics of oil, petroleum, hazardous and radiological substances, biological hazards, and polluted and/or contaminated material and debris, and applying the relevant transportation and disposal regulations when arranging/coordinating T&D activities.
The T&D coordinator shall have the ability to manage and ensure proper execution of multiple, simultaneous contracts, and independently manage or assist the RM in coordinating the treatment, transportation, and disposal phases of the TO so that work is performed in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
The T&D coordinator shall have and maintain training requirements for DOT HM and IATA certifications for packaging, labeling, and shipping hazardous materials.
The T&D coordinator must have a CHMM certification or within 3 months of the award of the contract.
Responsibilities The T&D Coordinator shall provide the following services:
Prepare hazardous waste profiles and manifests, and assign wastes to the proper regulatory ordination with the chemist, provide an effective waste minimization strategy, including bulking compatible waste streams.
The T&D Coordinator shall prepare, and certify its accuracy and completeness, an initial waste profile for OSC approval prior to solicitations of T&D subcontracts. This initial waste profile shall be included with all T&D solicitations unless otherwise directed by the OSC/PO/CO.
Identify the most cost-effective method(s) of disposal.
Ensure hazardous materials transportation regulations are being complied with, including proper container labeling and vehicle placarding, and that material containerization and transportation are in accordance with applicable state and federal DOT regulations, as well as IATA and other appropriate regulations and standards.
Provide the RM and OSC with cost-effective treatment and/or disposal options, considering both traditional and innovative treatment technologies.
Prepare technical reports covering the transportation and disposal operations, including treatment/disposal plans listing site waste streams by type and quantity, and provide a cost analysis of disposal and/or treatment options; develop waste stream characterization and bulking strategies as needed.
Prepare and complete TSDF waste profile forms, shipping manifests, and related documents. Maintain knowledge of facilities permitted to accept wastes encountered at CERCLA and/or other removal sites.
Schedule off-site shipments.
Ensure that off-site service providers are compliant with governing regulations and that disposal planning and execution are accurate, including preparation of disposal plans and regulatory documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The T&D Coordinator shall have knowledge of the analytical requirements necessary for the categorization and bulking of compatible waste streams. This person shall also have a thorough working knowledge of both State and Federal hazardous waste management and hazardous materials transportation regulations, including RCRA, TSCA, CERCLA, and DOT hazardous materials requirements such as proper labeling, containerization, and off-site shipping of hazardous materials (including IATA regulations), as well as a working knowledge of current and innovative treatment technologies, and the ability to prepare written technical reports covering the transportation, storage, treatment, and disposal operations.
