Primary Purpose Of The Organizational Unit: The UNCG Police Department is committed to providing the highest level of campus law enforcement services available. Position Summary: Positions in this banded class perform protective, security, enforcement and public contact work in support of campus operations. Work involves securing, guarding, and protecting property and grounds by patrolling the interior and exterior of facilities via foot, vehicle, bicycle, or other mode of transport and by monitoring activities using surveillance cameras, alarm panels, card access, or other electronic security systems. Minimum Qualifications: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY AND DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK. SOME POSITIONS MAY REQUIRE VALID N.C. DRIVER’S LICENSE. Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of UNCG and/or UNCG Police Department Previous security/Law enforcement experience Key Responsibilities:
Report Writing/RMS/ExacqVision/Medical Reports, and Found Property Calls for Service/Response Times Locks/Unlocks Decision Making Essential Tasks:
Effectively and accurately document activities as well as all activities related to the performance of their duties. Apply available technology for the purpose of recording, storing, and retrieving any documents created by themselves or any other officer. Respond within a reasonable amount of time to calls for service. Ensure they lock all the appropriate doors/buildings during their shift and provide unlocks in a timely manner. Identifies problems/concerns and quickly takes appropriate action consistent with available facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences. Competency:
Knowledge - Technical Communication Skills Security, Patrol, & Enforcement Decision Making Work Environment: The work environment includes driving, working at heights, working with equipment and machines, and exposure to potential hazardous conditions.
