MARKETING COORDINATOR (PROPOSALS)
— NEW YORK, NY | NEW ORLEANS, LA SCAPE is a landscape architecture and urban design practice with offices in New York, New Orleans, and San Francisco. We design ecologically restorative and socially engaged landscapes, urban environments, and nature-based infrastructure. Our team of over 80 includes landscape architects, urban planners, architects, ecological designers, horticulturists, and community engagement professionals, collaborating with architects, developers, engineers, foundations, agencies, institutions, and grassroots groups on projects across scales. ABOUT THE ROLE The Marketing Coordinator supports the Marketing Team with the proposal production process (RFP/Q) in the AEC industry. The candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience with RFP/Q submissions, strong InDesign skills, clear writing ability to translate design themes into narrative content, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset. This role reports to the Directors of Marketing/Business Development and sits within a team that includes a Director of Marketing, Director of Business Development, and a Communications Manager, under SCAPE’s Managing Principal. The Marketing Coordinator will help maintain a well-organized library of marketing materials describing our portfolio and create graphically compelling materials for new work opportunities. Professed familiarity with InDesign templates and brand standards is required. LOCATION This role is based in either our New York headquarters or our New Orleans office. It is in-person with some flexibility to work from home in alignment with company policy. Salary range: $55,000–$70,000, commensurate with experience. The Marketing Coordinator will support all levels of the proposal process, including: Reviewing RFP/Q briefs
and drafting summaries for Principal review/Go-No Go decisions; Managing proposal content layouts —drafting and compiling visually compelling, well-edited proposals in InDesign; Coordinating among subconsultant teams —leading correspondence and materials requests for multi-disciplinary teams; Drafting interview decks —creating visually compelling presentation decks; Coordinating review and edits of graphics and narrative content
with attention to detail and timely file management; Drafting original proposal materials —including tailored descriptions and baseline text; Coordinating submission of print and digital proposals —working with printers to meet specs and deadlines. The Coordinator will also maintain SCAPE’s marketing materials, including: Cutsheets
(project summaries with key graphics and information); Resumes and headshots ; Firm portfolios and promotional booklets ; Overall file management
(updating graphics, photos, text, and files on the marketing drive). Other work to support the Marketing Team and Principal Team may be assigned as needed, including coordinating lectures and events, awards submissions, website updates, digital media, and related tasks, with Directors’ oversight. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
A successful candidate will possess: A Bachelor’s degree
or higher; A minimum of two (2) years
of hands-on experience with RFP/Q proposals in the AEC industry; Expertise in Adobe InDesign
(must) — formatting, templates, and design sense; Experience leading RFP/Q responses
including producing drafts and coordinating among subconsultants; Excellent writing and copyediting skills
with strong attention to detail; General knowledge and interest in the design field
(landscape architecture, urban planning/design, architecture, engineering, real estate, economic development); Excellent organizational and time management skills
with ability to balance short- and long-term tasks; Strong relationship management
including the ability to “manage up” and streamline the proposal process. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Though not required, ideal candidates may also possess: Additional Adobe software skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and photo/video editing; Basic graphic design skills (e.g., simple diagrams such as site maps, organizational charts, graphic schedules).
