Join the Harrison School District 2 as a SPED Paraprofessional in The Autism Program. This position is for the 2025-2026 school year, with a 183 work day calendar and 7-7.5 hours per day. The hourly pay rate is $18.60+, with an additional $1.00/hour for paraprofessionals in Center Based Special Education programs. Job Summary Provide instructional support and assistance to students under the direction of a licensed school professional. Support instructional programs and provide instructional assistance for students in individual, small, and large group settings. Help students with special needs, including emotional issues, self-help skills, and educational needs. Facilitate crisis intervention and assist students with problem-solving techniques and conflict resolution. Collaborate and communicate with educators and administrators regarding academic and behavioral issues. Assist with data collection, record-keeping, and maintaining student files. Attend and participate in district and building in-service opportunities and committee work. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Support instructional programs and provide instructional assistance for students. Help students with special needs, including emotional issues and educational needs. Facilitate crisis intervention and assist students with problem-solving techniques. Collaborate and communicate with educators and administrators regarding academic and behavioral issues. Assist with data collection, record-keeping, and maintaining student files. Education, Training and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. 0-2 years of experience working with children with special needs preferred. Knowledge of child development and behavior management is preferred. CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
