OPEN UNTIL FILLED Be knowledgeable of and enforce federal, state, and district policies, rules, regulations, and procedures. Adhere to standards of professional conduct as outlined in Governing Board Policy. Follow guidelines as established by the NO Pass/NO Play policy. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants in practice areas, locker rooms, and on buses/vans. Support the total school athletic program by developing and implementing strategies for encouraging student participation in all athletic programs. Ensure accurate inventory, storage, issuance, care, and collection of all school athletic equipment. Adhere to District policies, procedures, and guidelines related to transportation, student travel, supervision of students, use of facilities, and management of keys. Schedule, organize, supervise, and proactively control the environment related to practices, competition, and pre/post season events. Knowledge of the sport being coached. Maintain and manage budgets tied to the athletic program. Ensure proper supervision and conduct by all assistant and volunteer coaches. Candidate must be at least 21 years of age. Possess a current CPR certification. Meet all coaching qualifications, course requirements, and certifications as determined by federal, state, and District criteria. Pass background investigation as outlined by the District. Be recommended by Principal or designee. Receive Governing Board approval. Possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. The function of a coach is to educate students through participation in interscholastic competition, designed to enhance academic achievement and promote opportunities for success. Coaches should treat students with respect and prioritize their welfare, instilling high ethical and moral standards. Upholding the dignity of the profession and demonstrating integrity in all interactions is essential. Major Duties

Enforce policies, rules, regulations, and procedures at federal, state, and district levels. Adhere to professional conduct standards as per Governing Board Policy. Follow NO Pass/NO Play guidelines. Ensure safety and welfare of participants in all settings. Develop strategies to encourage student participation in athletic programs. Manage athletic equipment inventory and care. Follow district policies related to transportation, supervision, and facilities. Organize and supervise practices and competitions. Maintain knowledge of the sport coached. Additional Responsibilities for Head Coach

Manage budgets for the athletic program. Supervise assistant and volunteer coaches. Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old. Current CPR certification. Meet coaching qualifications, course requirements, and certifications per district criteria. Pass background check. Recommendation by Principal or designee. Governing Board approval. Active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Additional for Head Coaches (Varsity, JV, Freshman)

Must possess a valid Arizona Teacher or Substitute Certificate. Lower-level coaches must be under direct supervision if not certified. Volunteer Coaches

Must always be supervised by a full-time certified staff member. Supervision

Received from Unit Principal, Assistant Principal, or Certified Staff. Given to Assistant and Volunteer Coaches.
