DSHS ESH Psychiatrist
– Eastern State Hospital (ESH), Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), is hiring.
Overview ESH is a fully accredited, state-owned, 317-bed psychiatric inpatient hospital. We collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to provide evaluation and inpatient treatment for individuals with serious or long-term mental illness. We offer on-site roles with opportunities for on-call or full-time work. Some positions on-site at least three days a week may include an additional premium pay.
Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric care to patients on the three units: Forensic Services Unit, Adult Psychiatric Unit, and Geropsychiatric Unit.
Perform comprehensive diagnostic assessments to create individual treatment plans.
Certify the medical necessity of the hospital level of care; prescribe and review medications and treatments.
Perform ongoing assessments of patient response to treatment and formulate/discharge plans or justify continued inpatient status.
The successful applicant will have the starting salary of $293,544.
Qualifications
Physicians with a valid license, or ability to obtain license, to practice medicine and surgery in Washington State.
Eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
A team leader capable of working collaboratively with multiple disciplines in a treatment-team setting.

Relocation assistance; $10,000 for Board Certification; $10,000 incentive for psychiatrists newly hired to DSHS; $6,500 annual CME allowance; employee legal representation/indemnification; tuition reimbursement up to $25,000 for qualifying employees.
