Principal Specialist, Contracts - Javelin (Onsite)

The portfolio focuses on DoD and Foreign Military Sale contracting, supporting proposals, negotiations, contract execution and customer interface for the Javelin Engineering Services portfolio, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and Cost-Plus Fixed Fee contracts across all phases of the product life cycle. The selected candidate will be a member of a 6-person Contracts team led by the Raytheon Associate Director, Contracts for the Javelin Joint Venture portfolio of programs. The role is part of the Precision Fires & Maneuvers Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) within Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS). What You Will Do
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers Analyze Requests for Proposal (RFP) related to Engineering Services Management (ESM), development of proposals in the Technical Directive Letter (TDL), proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, contract execution, and general contract administration Collaborate with the Contracts Lead and team members, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Proposal Manager, Business/Estimating and Supply Chain Support program management and execution reviews Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising stakeholders of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual/program risks Examine and understand cost structure estimates of labor, material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness Identify, mitigate, and drive the resolution of contractual issues as they may arise Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience Experience in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) contracting Experience with one or more of the following: Contracts Administration/Management, Program/Project Management, Supply Chain Management or Financial/Estimating Management Qualifications We Prefer
Excellent communication skills Excellent collaboration and leadership skills; demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and build effective relationships based on respect and trust Experience in a position requiring multi-tasking and handling several assignments concurrently or similar project management or coordination Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts FMS and/or DCS experience What We Offer
