Overview

Location: Research Triangle Park, NC Reports To: AATCC Technical Director The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) connects professionals in textile science, design, and technology to promote research, innovation, and education across the global textile industry. AATCC is a member association and a textile industry standards provider. AATCC seeks an organized, proactive Conference, Workshop, and Events Manager to plan and deliver high-quality conferences, workshops, webinars, and special events that advance the Association’s mission. This position oversees all aspects of event management—from concept to completion—including logistics, contracts, budgeting, and on-site operations. The Manager also serves as Secretary and Coordinator for three Administrative Committees and supports leadership through professional communication, collaboration, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is an experienced event professional who can balance autonomy with accountability, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with members, staff, and partners. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. AATCC offers health, dental, and 401K. No relocation reimbursement nor Visa sponsorship is provided. Key Responsibilities

Plan and execute AATCC conferences, workshops, webinars, and educational programs. Secure venues, negotiate contracts, and manage budgets with oversight from the Technical Director. Coordinate logistics including BEOs (Banquet Event Orders), AV, catering, registration, and travel arrangements. Serve as Secretary and Coordinator for three Administrative Committees. Prepare and manage sponsorship and trade-show agreements that benefit AATCC through like-kind promotional opportunities. Supervise or collaborate with one associate who assists with event coordination. Partner with the Marketing Team to promote events and manage online communications. Conduct site visits, evaluate venues, and oversee on-site execution. Secure venues and lodging options for Research Committee meetings. Maintain accurate event data, reports, and post-event evaluations. Work Environment

This position is based in Research Triangle Park, NC, and includes travel for site visits, conferences, workshops, and related educational events. The role may involve remote work in cases of travel, weather, or other approved situations. Remote workdays are subject to the approval and discretion of the Technical Director and may be modified or discontinued as business needs require. Physical Requirements: The employee must be able to lift and transport boxes, files, and event supplies weighing up to 30 pounds for meetings and events. Why Join AATCC?

Demonstrated experience planning and executing full-scale conferences or workshops, including venue selection, budgeting, logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site management — beyond basic meeting coordination. Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing professional conferences, workshops, or multi-day events. Strong project management, organization, and budgeting skills. Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort with Zoom, WebEx, and Teams. Open to learning and adopting new technologies, applications, and concepts that improve event efficiency and member engagement. Ability to travel for site visits, conferences, and educational events.
