has an immediate opening for an energetic, creative, and smart
Newscast Producer . We are looking for someone who loves coming to work each day with great energy to create unpredictable, fast-paced, content-focused newscasts. You must be a strong communicator who can work closely with Managers, Anchors, Reporters, Directors, and our Assignment Desk.
Producers must understand the value of a gather-publish news strategy across all relevant platforms. You will work closely with our digital team, utilizing social media in newsgathering and engaging with viewers during newscasts. Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities are essential.
Required Skills:
Solid news judgment
Calm and confident under pressure
Aggressive digital and social media skills
Compelling and accurate writing skills
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively to produce an exciting and informative newscast
Attention to detail
Strong leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with non-linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems such as iNews
Required Experience:
Experience producing newscasts preferred, but entry-level candidates may be considered
Journalism degree preferred
