Overview
Be a catalyst in revolutionizing reading education. Alpha School is reshaping elementary reading education with a 2-Hour Learning model that combines AI-driven adaptive tools with expert instruction to provide personalized, high-impact literacy experiences. In this role, you will not only teach but design a scalable reading program for multiple campuses, lead tech-enhanced workshops, motivate young readers, and collaborate with engineers to refine AI-powered tools. Success is measured by reading improvements, engaged students, and feedback that enhances the AI-driven curriculum. This is a full-time, on-site position available at one of our locations. Locations

Conduct adaptive reading workshops to cultivate foundational skills in phonics, comprehension, and fluency Create personalized motivational sessions to enhance engagement through gamified literacy achievements Examine student progress data to refine instruction and provide actionable insights Partner with the tech team to assess and improve AI literacy tools based on classroom results Develop scalable content that customizes reading pathways for a diverse range of learners What You Won’t Be Doing
Adhering to a strict scripted curriculum that overlooks student needs or data Spending excessive time on traditional lesson planning, grading, or administrative tasks Working in overcrowded classrooms with limited resources Focusing on behavior management instead of reading instruction Teaching in isolation without contributing to program or product enhancements Literacy Program Coordinator – Key Responsibilities
Create a scalable, AI-enhanced reading program that equips early elementary students to reach grade-level proficiency and develop a lifelong passion for reading. Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent) Minimum of 2 years experience in providing small-group reading interventions to early elementary students Adept at assessing reading levels, grouping students, and designing differentiated instruction without relying on pre-written curricula Proficient with AI/adaptive learning tools and responsive to student interactions within them Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Willing to work on-site at one of our locations: Orange County, CA; New York City, NY; or Washington, D.C. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
