Senior Territory Manager (Transportation)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Territory Manager in the Waukesha, WI area. The Senior Territory Manager is responsible for overseeing and growing sales within the Waukesha geographic area. This role involves managing relationships with our agents, regional underwriting team and corporate departments. The Senior Territory Manager is also responsible for identifying new business opportunities, ensuring compliance with company policies, and meeting sales targets. The Senior Territory Manager serves as the primary point of contact for partners in the region, providing training, support, and strategic guidance to drive performance and profitability. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills are essential for success in this position. The ideal candidate must live within the Waukesha area.

Competencies and Essential Duties
Business Acumen: Sales/Premium Growth – Develop the agency force that pre-qualifies accounts, in house rates, and assists agency partners to help them write profitable business.
Business Acumen: Develop professional working relationships with agents, regional underwriting and claim teams, and corporate departments.
Business Acumen: Conduct thorough evaluation of all prospective agents and submit written recommendation to Regional Vice President.
Profitability: Profile personal lines book of business to assist in profitability analysis.
Agency Management: Provide training to agency plants on new programs, products, services, and systems.
Negotiation: Keep two-way communication between agent and company continuously open and viable.
Results Oriented: Monitor agency results and follow up with agent as to growth and compliance with company initiatives, procedures and policies; stay alert for industry information and changes that could affect Penn National Insurance.
Results Oriented: Conduct ongoing agency prospecting within territory to create a pipeline of potential future appointments.
Profitability: Monitor agency results and follow up with agent as to profitability and compliance with company initiatives, procedures and policies; facilitate agency reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.
Agency Management: Develop annual agency/company marketing plans.
Decision Making: Make consistent underwriting decisions, adhere to company pricing philosophies and promote ease of doing business with Penn National Insurance.
Profitability: Develop and implement agency action plans to achieve profitability; analyze territory profitability, premium growth, and agency representation, and implement corrective actions where appropriate.
Time & Priority Management: Participate in rate reviews as requested (PL & CL).
Special Relationships: Direct contact with agents and insureds; no internal direct reports; reports to Regional Vice President; interacts with underwriting and claims service office personnel and Home Office Underwriting Operations personnel.
Qualifications
Education/Credentials: Four year college degree preferred, with continuing education in specialized insurance courses such as IIA, AU, CPCU, and CIC; maintain active P&C license in domiciled state.
Experience: Minimum of five years property/casualty commercial underwriting; minimum of three years marketing experience with a Property and Casualty carrier preferred; agency or broker experience may substitute.
Technical/Professional Knowledge: Technical underwriting knowledge of commercial and personal lines of Penn National Insurance; strong written and oral communication; proven sales, negotiations, and solution-selling skills; working knowledge of agency and Company automation systems and Microsoft Office; strong financial analysis and underwriting analysis skills.

Sedentary position with occasional standing and walking; may require travel with overnight stays.
Ability to see and use a computer monitor; operate computer, keyboard, printers, and office equipment.
Ability to access and enter information using automated systems; communicate via telephone and monitoring devices.
Ability to present information to individuals and groups; interpret and apply concepts; maintain acceptable attendance and scheduled hours.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle; travel as required.
