In-House PV Designer
to step in as the
Head of our Design Department , leading all things solar design while working directly with our permitting, utility, and operations teams.
What You’ll Do
Own the
PV design process
from concept through permit-ready plans
Lead design standards and department best practices
Work directly with operations, permitting, and utility interconnection teams
Create single-line diagrams, layouts, and interconnection designs in compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility rules
Review site survey data, roof layouts, and main panel conditions to determine interconnection method
Ensure designs are
code-compliant and buildable , minimizing field changes
Stay sharp on utility and AHJ requirements, keeping projects moving smoothly
Collaborate with leadership on improving efficiency, cost, and margin
What We’re Looking For
2–5+ years of
solar PV design experience
(residential and/or commercial)
Proficiency with design tools (Helioscope, Aurora, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of
NEC 690/705 , interconnection methods, and utility processes
Experience with
main panel assessments, load calcs, and breaker sizing
Detail-oriented but capable of
big-picture leadership
Strong communicator who thrives in a cross-functional, fast-moving environment
What We Offer
$75,000 – $100,000 base salary
(DOE)
