The Coordinator of Parish Communications (CPC) supports and assists the Pastor and Pastoral Staff in developing and organizing the parish’s communication efforts, both internal and external, in support of the parish’s mission. This includes editing, publication and stewardship of the parish Bulletin, website, social media outlets, print, video and electronic communications. The CPC ensures that all content and communication processes are consistent with the parish’s mission, goals and values and are compliant with parish and Archdiocesan policies and procedures. All responsibilities are to be performed in a spirit of Christian service. This position reports to the Pastor. Responsibilities

With a missionary spirit, foster a climate of Christian service, teamwork and efficiency within the Parish Office and with parishioners and staff. Be accountable to the Pastor for communications efforts that support the mission of the parish to both members and the wider community. Participate in Parish Staff meetings and other meetings at the Vicariate/council level as necessary. Plan, implement and measure the performance of the parish communications strategy. Monitor perceptions. Assemble and edit the weekly Parish Bulletin. Create, update, schedule and maintain content and appearance of the parish’s website and social media channels. Ensure consistency across formats. Evaluate and approve posts made to parish media channels for appropriateness, as outlined by parish and Archdiocesan guidelines. Monitor responses to parish posts. Design, create and distribute periodic email messaging to the parish community. Maintain the parish account and list of parishioners with the selected mass email service. Control parish media platform accounts, including approved users and security. Attend parish events, liturgies and ministry activities to take photographs for sharing with the parish community. Coordinate other photographers for parish. Plan usage, content, production and distribution of video communications to the parish and wider community. Provide layout design and graphics for parish publications and media. Consult with Pastor on communications-related issues. Collaborate with the Director of Parish Operations to provide platforms and equipment for internal and external communication and to manage communications expenses within the parish budget. Define and oversee processes for the submission and approval of content for the parish communication vehicles that fall within the scope of the CPC. Attend training provided by Archdiocesan agencies and other professional forums to grow and improve parish communications. Pursue opportunities for personal, professional, and spiritual growth. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
