HV Designer – Level 3, Department: Engineering, Location: Irvine, CA, Supervisor: Director of SME, FLSA Status: Exempt, Position Status: Permanent, Full-Time, Work Status: Hybrid. The HV Designer – Level 3 will provide engineering support to the E&C team and assist in all stages of project substation or transmission design. This position reports to the Director of SME (or another management person designated by the President) and is based in Irvine, CA with a hybrid work arrangement (home office and Irvine office). Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm or 9:00am–6:00pm local time. Design and develop detailed HV substation or transmission drawings, including equipment layouts, single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, trench sections, general arrangement, and elevations. Design transmission lines with drawings such as Plan & Profiles, structures, phasing, and KMZ routes. Prepare initial and advanced design concepts during the proposal stage with minimal information or guidance. Prepare drawings for civil and structural elements of substation or transmission design as needed. Prepare various reports and documents such as bill of materials, basis of design, and studies. Contribute to CAD standards development, considering the needs of engineering and design departments. Help simplify project tasks within the discipline to enhance productivity. Participate in QA/QC, take ownership of project and task quality, and maintain professional client relationships. Uphold high standards of professionalism and ethics; commit to continuous learning and safety training. Collaborate with the team to develop and improve system standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety. Support technical training for team members and new employees. Attend to other duties and special projects as assigned. Required Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Minimum 4–6 years of engineering design experience in high voltage substation or transmission. Relevant experience in electrical or physical design of substations or transmission lines. Proficiency with AutoCAD is required. Excellent technical communication abilities, including reading technical literature and engineering plans. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of the National Electric Code. Excellent written and verbal communication; strong command of English. Assertive, able to cope with pressure, and a team player. Work Environment and Equal Opportunity
