POSITION SUMMARY
The Howard H. Baker School of Public Policy and Public Affairs (Baker School) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks applications and nominations for a full-time communications manager to join the team of professionals within the Baker School Office of Communications and Marketing. This position serves as the lead content writer and editor for strategic marketing communications to ensure brand consistency, style edits, structure, and flow.
The communications manager will manage writing and provide copy editing support for all forms of written content, including:
Baker School website stories
News releases
Social media
Features
Internal stories
Annual reports
Promotional material
Newsletters
This position will focus on storytelling to showcase the work of the College's students, faculty, and alumni. The role involves collaboration with the Baker School Office of Communications and Marketing (C&M), the Dean's Office, and supporting units across the School, Institute for American Civics, and Research Centers to enhance marketing and outreach efforts focused on student recruitment and donor relations.
The communications manager will lead the User Research and Usability Testing for the Baker School website and ensure web content and published materials are inclusive and accessible. This position will also lead all web design work and serve as the main liaison with the university's Office of Communications and Marketing for campus-wide Web Design System initiatives.
