We are currently seeking a full-time Taproom Manager to lead our service team and support the beverage operations of our Morganton + Nebo, NC taprooms.

Job Purpose

The taproom manager will be responsible for all aspects of the taproom operations. A typical work week will consist of administrative duties as well as serving as Manager on Duty as needed between the two locations. The individual should demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and exude hospitality toward guests while also nurturing a positive environment amongst bar staff. The ideal candidate will cultivate relationships with current and potential patrons during regular taproom service, special events, and retail events. The position will require flexible availability for day, evening, weekend, and event coverage. Target work week will be Tuesday through Saturday, pending special events and holidays.

A successful candidate for this role will be heavily focused on guest experience and team leadership. Previous experience as a food and beverage leader, with bar-specific experience is required. The individual should possess the ability to communicate the Fonta Flora story and educate both bar staff and customers about the offerings we produce. In addition, the taproom manager must possess attention to detail in order to complete administrative tasks, hold staff accountable, and provide an excellent taproom experience. The taproom manager is tasked with formulating out-of-the-box ideas to grow sales revenue and bolster our taproom culture and experience.

The primary focus of the taproom manager is to ensure that the taproom experience is nothing short of exceptional. A successful candidate will ensure smooth taproom operation by appropriately staffing the taprooms while ensuring that the bar staff has everything needed to successfully and efficiently complete their tasks. They will ensure that the taproom environment is comfortable, our beverages are presented at their highest quality, and that unforeseen needs are addressed quickly. The Taproom Manager is also responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive experience during their visit and that bar staff are trained to represent our brand at all times.

ERRDAY Job Tasks

Leadership

Management of all taproom employees (Liquor Program Manager, Assistant Taproom Managers, bartenders, barbacks), including: hiring, training, scheduling shifts, performance feedback, and accountability for adhering to taproom standard operating procedures Responsible for oversight, coordination, and delegation of all tasks carried out by Assistant Taproom Managers Ensure that all taproom protocol is followed (setting up and closing down cash drawers, ensuring that the taproom is clean and ready for patrons, restocking/ordering any necessary supplies, addressing any unforeseen needs, etc.) Ensure that all staff is aware of and follows ALE and NC ABC laws and regulations Work with Liquor Program Manager to set the front of house team up for success with everything necessary to provide seamless cocktail presentation, education and execution Develop and maintain continuing education, trainings, and fellowship gatherings for bar staff, in collaboration with Administrative Coordinator and Head of Hospitality Responsible for posting regular staff announcements in Basecamp, our company project management software Responsible for posting monthly bar staff schedules in Basecamp, our project management software, within outlined timeframe Support bar staff during Manager on Duty shifts by providing breaks, and assessing needs to take care of any and all bartender duties as necessary. Step in as bartender and/or beer educator as needed Facilitate bar shift coverage in the event of call-outs, covering shifts if/when needed

Taproom Management

Create and maintain a pleasant taproom environment (temperature, music, lighting, cleanliness, conduct) in accordance with standard operating procedures Responsible for overall taproom and event space appearance, upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance (scheduling of cleaning crews, repairs, etc.) Responsible for purchase, maintenance, and maintaining inventory of current and essential taproom furniture and equipment (picnic tables, umbrellas, heaters, etc.) Responsible for maintaining proper taproom draught list and beer inventory (and other Fonta Flora products) for resale by placing weekly orders using Ollie/Keg inventory spreadsheet. Responsible for movement and organization of taproom inventory, such as kegs and cans, on a weekly basis (up to 165 pounds) Responsible for ensuring all beer lines are clean in collaboration of the Assistant Taproom Managers Responsible for updating and maintaining correct draft list menus and To-Go option menus Work in collaboration with Controller, Head of Hospitality, Liquor Program Manager and Sales & Distribution team to ensure correct pricing for all Fonta Flora and guest offerings Responsible for researching, ordering, pricing, maintaining inventory, and distribution of taproom items available for purchase Responsible scheduling delivery, receiving and organizing of all taproom supplies and items available for purchase Ensure that all taproom merchandise and offerings are properly displayed, organized, tidy, and up to company standards and expectations Responsible for working with Charlotte Taproom Manager to ordering and maintaining adequate levels of shared inventory between all taproom locations Serve as the first point of contact and responder for alarm notifications at both locations during non-working hours.

Administrative Tasks

Consistent communication with the Fonta Flora team, Senior Leadership Team, fellow Admin staff, Assistant Taproom Managers, and front of house taproom staff Adhere to Credit Card SOP to upload credit card receipts to catalog purchases in a timely manner Oversight of ABC files and invoices - ensuring they are processed in a timely manner and organized in proper folders Oversight of liquor program inventory tracking, COGS and recipe submission Responsible for maintaining accurate cash drawers, petty/backup cash, and preparing weekly cash deposits Work with the Media Manager and Head of Hospitality to submit promotional requests to properly market the taproom updates, sales, events, and promotions by way of social media, website, promotional materials, etc.) Maintain and update seasonal and holiday business hours on all online platforms Taproom locations. Communicate with the Marketing Manager to ensure hours are updated and shared on social media platforms. Update physical hours signs on Taproom doors. Utilize Square to pull various reports to analyze food and beverage sales, determine staffing needs, and evaluate recurring event revenue (trivia, music bingo, live music, etc.) Update all items and discounts in Square system to accurately reflect our offerings on our POS Responsible for upkeep, troubleshooting, and inventory of Square POS on Taproom iPads Responsible for updating inventory, pricing, and descriptions of beer and other beverage offerings on the company website Responsible oversight of online shipping program - maintaining and selecting inventory, coordination and timing of sales, communication with Marketing Manager and Taproom Assistants, and ensuring that all needs are met in order to process and ship online orders Understand and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Previous management experience leading an F&B or Bar Staff required; experience in Craft Beer, Mixology or Hospitality highly preferred Knowledge of the inner workings of draught lines, including C02, Nitro, and cask Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude Superior interpersonal skills and team spirit Ability to demonstrate sound decision making The desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company Previous experience hiring, training, and developing staff Strong computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office and Basecamp and Square POS system Available to work full-time, including nights and weekends. Suggested work week is Tuesday through Saturday Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
