Appalachian Conservation Corps (ACC) works to connect young people to critical conservation service work across Appalachia and neighboring communities in Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, DC, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Position Summary
The Program Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to: Participate in the planning and execution of crew leader and member trainings; Coordinate communication between the field and the office; Support and mentor all field staff; Ensure crews are both supported and prepared to maintain safety, program integrity, and quality projects in the field; manage project logistics, property access, mapping, and materials pick up or delivery. Outcomes & Functions Of Position
Assist in developing positions for the Crew Program with many different project partners. Monitor and review incoming applications for volume and quality. Interview, select, and onboard Crew Members, collaborating externally and internally as necessary. Fill all open positions in a reasonable amount of time. Collect, compile, and process all required intake and enrollment materials for Crew Leaders and Members. Qualifications
Previous Corps Experience. B Faller Certification, or willingness to obtain before the start of the field season. VA Herbicide Technician certification, or the willingness to obtain before the start of the field season. Competency in Trail building and Maintenance. Ability to successfully work in a fluid, changing work environment.
