About the Role

A multi-entity family office with diverse holdings across operating companies, real estate, and philanthropic ventures is seeking an accomplished

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

to oversee all aspects of financial strategy, reporting, and governance. This executive will serve as a trusted advisor to the principals and investment committee, providing clarity, discipline, and insight across the family’s portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in both

family office

and

private equity environments , with the ability to navigate complex ownership structures, multi-entity consolidations, and investment management functions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

Partner directly with family principals to manage the overall financial health, long-term planning, and liquidity strategy of the family office.

Develop financial policies, governance frameworks, and succession/legacy planning strategies.

Oversee consolidated financial reporting across operating entities, investment vehicles, and trusts.

Investment Oversight

Coordinate with internal and external investment advisors to monitor performance, allocation, and risk.

Provide reporting and performance metrics for direct investments, funds, and alternative asset holdings.

Support due diligence and transaction execution for new investments, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Accounting, Reporting & Compliance

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, budgeting, tax planning, and audit coordination.

Ensure all reporting complies with GAAP, tax, and regulatory standards for multi-entity structures.

Lead quarterly and annual consolidated reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis.

Operational Excellence

Manage banking relationships, treasury functions, and cash flow forecasting.

Implement and enhance financial systems, internal controls, and operational efficiency.

Coordinate with estate planning, legal, and tax advisors to ensure cohesive execution of the family’s goals.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead a small, high-performing team of finance and accounting professionals, along with external advisors.

Serve as a key culture carrier — balancing professional rigor with the family’s values, confidentiality, and long-term mission.

Qualifications

15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or senior finance leadership role.

Prior experience within a

family office ,

private equity ,

investment management , or

multi-entity holding company

environment required.

CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.

Proven track record in investment oversight, financial reporting, and strategic planning.

High integrity, discretion, and interpersonal skill to navigate family governance dynamics.

Strong systems orientation — familiarity with QuickBooks Enterprise, NetSuite, or other integrated platforms.
