Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!
Position Overview:
The Substance Abuse Counselor will be responsible for assisting patients through medically assisted programs and providing techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts group and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies, and evaluates patients' progress during therapy. Collaboration with doctors, nurses, and therapists may be required for comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities:
Conduct initial assessments and evaluations for service eligibility.
Involve families and significant others in the recovery process when possible.
Establish and review treatment plans with each patient.
Respond to patient grievances and complaints as needed.
Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Certification or license such as ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LCPC, LCSW, LGADC, or LCADC from the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists is required.
Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
Salary Range:
From $44,000 to $80,000 annually. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime with prior approval. Salary will be based on experience, education, licensure, and training.
