Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!
Position Overview:
The substance abuse counselor will be responsible for assisting patients through medically assisted programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts group and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, the counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and therapists to ensure the best overall outcome.
Responsibilities:
Conduct individual initial assessments and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination.
Involve families and significant others in the patient’s recovery process whenever possible.
Facilitate, establish, and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
Respond to patient grievances and complaints as needed.
Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Certification or license is required: ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LCPC, LCSW, LGADC, or LCADC from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
Salary Range:
From $44,000 to $80,000 annually. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime with prior approval.
The salary will be determined based on experience, education, licensure, and training.
