We’re looking for an Assistant Finance Director who can blend financial expertise with a passion for public service, helping to guide our Village toward a strong and sustainable future. Responsibilities you will have: As the Assistant Finance Director, you’ll be a key member of our leadership team, working alongside the Finance Director to: Manage and oversee accounting, budgeting, payroll, utility billing, and financial reporting functions. Develop and present financial reports that clearly tell the Village’s financial story. Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards (GASB) and regulatory requirements. Assist with preparing the annual audit, budget, and multi-year financial plans. Supervise and mentor staff, fostering professional growth and teamwork. Step into the Finance Director’s role when needed, ensuring smooth departmental operations. Qualifications we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred). Five or more years of progressively responsible finance experience, ideally in local government. Strong grasp of governmental accounting, budgeting, and audit processes. A proactive communicator who can translate complex numbers into clear information. Tech-savvy with financial systems and Microsoft Office tools. A collaborative leader who thrives in a team environment. Questions?
