Overview

The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking three motivated professionals to serve as Research Coordinators to support and coordinate enrollment for clinical research studies. These individuals will work with a diverse team of clinical investigators and research staff to coordinate currently active research studies, including subject enrollment, data and research specimen collection, and data quality assurance. The position requires work in the emergency department and may involve evening and weekend hours to meet enrollment demands. Responsibilities

Coordinate enrollment for clinical research studies and assist with data and research specimen collection in accordance with study protocols. Oversee student employees in screening, data entry, and data quality assurance tasks. Plan and execute study promotional activities to keep clinical staff informed about active research studies. Maintain site investigative files and ensure regulatory binders are up to date. Report protocol safety information to the institutional review board (IRB) as needed and maintain regular communication with the research team, clinical trial sponsors, and representatives. Collect and prepare data and research specimens per protocol; supervise data entry and quality assurance processes. Schedule evening and weekend work hours as needed to meet enrollment demands. Perform additional duties as assigned in support of clinical research activities. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities described. Completed degrees from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications

Experience identifying barriers to understanding and knowledge gaps. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Experience delivering oral presentations to small groups. Completion of Human Research Protections (HRP) Training and Good Clinical Practices curriculum. Medical experience or current license (EMT, RN, etc.) or experience working with Protected Health Information (PHI). Research experience including use of data collection software (REDCap, OpenClinica, etc.). Experience maintaining and updating clinical study binders. IRB and grant submission experience. Basic understanding of research study design and statistics. Conditions of Employment

Post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check; additional health screenings may be required as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services. Employees in patient care or clinical areas must comply with the university influenza vaccination requirement.
