Overview
Coord, Research — The Division of Nephrology, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, results-driven, and will coordinate clinical trials with diverse populations, including Hispanic and Native American communities. Responsibilities include IRB submissions, patient recruitment and retention, data collection and maintenance, and ensuring good clinical practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to work with university and community stakeholders such as health care providers, funding agencies, university researchers, and media representatives.
Responsibilities
Recruitment, enrollment, and scheduling of research subjects. Develop and maintain record-keeping systems and procedures.
Collect and prepare comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports, such as enrollment tracking for all active studies.
Coordinate and facilitate development and submission of local IRB applications for biomedical and federally regulated life sciences research, in accordance with applicable Federal and State regulations.
Advise and assist research in the preparation and submission of protocols for compliance review.
Drawing and processing blood will be required for some studies.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completion of degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred:
Ability to adapt to changing priorities; ability to provide support for a variety of research project types; ability to multitask; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in Spanish both orally and in writing.
