Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced
Senior Tax Accountant
to join their finance team. This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and supporting tax planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments in a dynamic corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns, including quarterly estimates and extensions.
Support the preparation of consolidated tax provisions and ensure compliance with ASC 740 requirements.
Conduct detailed tax research and analysis to identify opportunities for savings and ensure compliance with changing tax laws.
Assist with tax audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities and coordinating necessary documentation.
Partner with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and financial statement integration.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations, legislation, and industry trends impacting corporate tax strategy.
Participate in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
Support process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy in tax operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of tax experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
Strong knowledge of federal and state corporate income tax laws and regulations.
Experience with tax compliance software and ERP systems (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, Oracle, SAP, or similar).
Solid understanding of ASC 740 (Income Taxes) and tax provision preparation.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to present complex tax matters clearly to non-tax professionals.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
