Overview

Warren Wilson College welcomes applicants for a full-time, continuing faculty position in History. This is an Assistant Professor position in our extended contract system beginning in August 2026. Responsibilities

Teach 24 credit hours of undergraduate instruction per academic year. Provide academic and career advising to students. Participate in and contribute to the curriculum of the Public Humanities Department. Contribute to the college’s General Education Program, as determined to be appropriate in consultation with the Department Chair. Provide service to the College, and engage in ongoing professional development, scholarly and/or creative activity. Contribute courses to the International and Social Justice Studies major. Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D in History or related field. ABD will be considered. One year of successful teaching experience. Demonstrated experience with advancing a learning environment that is conducive to all students. For instance, experience incorporating inclusive teaching modalities, selection of course content, subject matter experts and working with diverse student populations. Teaching experience specializing in at least one world region such as Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin American and the Caribbean, and/or the Middle East. Exhibited commitment to professional growth and scholarship. Preferred Qualifications
