The Eastern Illinois University Department of Music invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Music – Applied Trumpet (full-time, tenure-track). This appointment will begin in August 2026. Responsibilities:
Duties include teaching applied trumpet and recruiting students for an established, comprehensive undergraduate and graduate music program. The ability to teach and perform classical trumpet required, additional abilities in jazz teaching and performance preferred. Candidates are expected to have a Master's Degree in Music, Doctorate in Music or equivalent professional experience preferred. A Master’s Degree in Music, plus thirty hours of graduate study in the field is required for tenure. Must be an accomplished teacher and musician. Collegiate teaching experience with demonstrable success working with undergraduate and graduate students preferred.
