Position Overview:
The Bank is seeking an experienced, relationship-focused
Senior Commercial Lender
to join its lending team. This individual will play a key role in building and managing a high-quality portfolio of commercial relationships, with the opportunity to bring existing connections and a proven track record of success. As a
large community bank that operates with the feel of a small one , the Bank values local decision-making, strong customer relationships, and deep community involvement. The Senior Commercial Lender will be empowered to leverage their expertise and market presence to help businesses succeed while contributing to the Bank’s long-term growth. Key Responsibilities: Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial relationships across CRE, C&I, SBA, and (when applicable) agricultural lending.
Source and develop new business opportunities through existing relationships, referrals, and proactive market development.
Partner with credit and underwriting teams to structure complex transactions and deliver tailored solutions.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance and support for their long-term financial goals.
Mentor junior lenders and contribute to the development of the Bank’s lending team.
Maintain strong credit quality, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Represent the Bank at community and industry events to strengthen visibility and brand presence.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus).
7+ years of commercial lending experience with a proven ability to originate and manage a strong portfolio.
Established reputation in the market with existing business relationships preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in structuring and managing complex commercial loans.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
