Position Overview:
The Bank is seeking an ambitious and relationship-driven
Commercial Lender
who is ready to take the next step in their banking career. This role is ideal for a lender with a few years of credit or lending experience who is eager to grow a portfolio and develop deeper ties within the community. As a
large community bank with a small-bank feel , the Bank emphasizes personalized service, relationship building, and community involvement. The Commercial Lender will be empowered to build strong connections with local businesses, support their financial needs, and grow into a trusted advisor role. Key Responsibilities: Develop and grow a portfolio of commercial banking relationships, with a focus on small to mid-sized businesses.
Partner with senior lenders and credit staff to structure, underwrite, and close commercial loans.
Provide tailored financial solutions across commercial real estate, C&I, SBA, and (when applicable) agricultural lending.
Manage customer relationships by providing ongoing support, problem solving, and financial guidance.
Actively call on prospects, centers of influence, and referral sources to generate new business.
Ensure all loan activity complies with Bank policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in community and networking activities to strengthen the Bank’s presence in the market.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field.
2–5 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or underwriting.
Solid understanding of credit fundamentals and loan structuring.
Strong relationship management, communication, and business development skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to proactively build a portfolio.
