Bechtel Corporation The Employment Relations Specialist (ER Specialist) serves as the lead administrator and supervisor of all craft professional onboarding activities, ensuring a seamless, compliant, and efficient transition for new hires from the point of offer acceptance through their first day in the field. Project Overview Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. Job Summary The ER Specialist is critical to maintaining accurate workforce data and achieving hiring targets. Major Responsibilities Performs research and develops statistical information and studies on issues such as productivity, labor union or construction industry trends and practices Prepares staffing forecasts Maintains associated reference lists and files Onboarding Paperwork Management: Overseeing the distribution, collection, and verification of all new hire documentation, ensuring legal and company compliance standards are met. Immigration and Compliance: Processing and controlling all mandatory verification steps, including I-9 and E-Verify submissions for all incoming craft professionals. Compensation Administration: Reviewing and managing administrative aspects related to new hire pay and allowances, including the review and approval of per diem documentation based on established project policies. Coordination & Scheduling: Working directly with the recruitment team to schedule onboarding sessions and managing the flow of new hires into the system. Orientation Liaison: Coordinating the movement and transfer of new hires from the Recruitment Center to the Orientation team, ensuring all necessary documentation is transferred. Field Release Authorization: Issuing the final New Hire Field Release only after all required compliance, background, drug testing, and administrative steps are successfully completed. Data Integrity: Maintaining strict control and accurate input of all new hire data into relevant Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Education And Experience Requirements Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge And Skills Proven experience in an administrative, HR, or personnel processing role, preferably within the construction or industrial sector. Expert Data Input and Control skills with a meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Strong Scheduling and Coordinating abilities, capable of managing complex intake volumes and adhering to strict deadlines. Excellent organizational and communication skills, necessary for interacting with recruiters, new hires, and project leadership. Proficiency in General Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience with HRIS or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces.
