An award-winning, multi-state residential mortgage lender is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Associate to join our dynamic team. We pride ourselves on high standards of honesty, integrity, and ethics, focusing on providing exemplary service while streamlining the loan process. The Payroll Associate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll operations for our Retail Branch. Position Summary: The Payroll Associate will be responsible for managing the entire Retail Branch payroll process, including the preparation of W-2 and 1099 forms. This role requires maintaining the accuracy of the electronic timesheet system and supporting the Payroll Manager in liaising with auditors and federal agencies. The Payroll Associate will serve as a backup for the Finance Associate when necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong payroll background are essential for this position. Essential Job Functions: Distribute and collect timesheets each pay period, maintaining the electronic time and attendance system. Calculate hours worked and ensure wage accuracy. Verify accuracy of payroll entries before final processing. Support Payroll Manager in corporate payroll processes. Assist employees with clocking issues, error corrections, and account unlocking in HRIS. Run daily reports to identify employees who miss clocking in/out. Provide support to Accounts Payable and Finance Associate as needed. Update loan officer commission sheets using settlement summaries. Generate and distribute Retail Branch payroll reports to Branch Managers. Enter and verify Retail Branch payroll reports in HRIS. Match and verify settlement sheets to commission sheets for final approval. Sort and purge HRIS checks before payday. Update monthly payroll invoices for Retail Branch Administration. Track and manage missed benefit deductions for branches. Update employee tax and banking information as required. Required Job Functions: Build effective communication and relationships with diverse staff and external vendors in a fast-paced environment. Address pay-related concerns professionally and promptly. Provide accurate payroll information upon request. May require occasional overtime and travel. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications: 5-20 years of payroll processing experience. Strong attention to detail and ability to work across various systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for basic formulas and formatting. Ability to work on-site 5 days per week, with potential for hybrid work later in the year. Seniority level
