Position Overview

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate bi-weekly processing of payroll within UKG, in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations. This role, reporting to the AVP, People Operations and Compliance and working with the Senior Payroll Specialist, is responsible for multiple payroll activities, maintaining accurate recordkeeping, ensuring a positive employee experience and collaborating across the human resources, finance and business operations to continually improve systems and processes. Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with processing nationwide bi-weekly payroll Maintain daily review, input, and resolution of items submitted to payroll (new hires, terminations, LOA, pay changes, status changes, title changes, etc.) Maintain ongoing effective communication with Human Resources to ensure accuracy of employee data and efficient processing of employee changes Handle assigned workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely Understand and be able to perform all phases of the payroll process, associated processes, and audits Resolves daily inbox and escalated payroll process and policy inquiries requiring higher level knowledge Process all aspects of assigned payrolls, including off-cycle payrolls, manual checks, verification of time, new hires, rehires, terminations, tax information, benefit deductions, awards, leave of absence, relocation reimbursements, bonuses, other benefits, garnishments, child supports withholding, and other changes, and ensure posting accuracy Participate in projects that expand the scope and/or scale of Payroll, while ensuring compliance with department and company procedures, policies, and state and federal regulations Generate various reports on taxes paid, employee withholdings and deductions taken to properly record and verify payroll-related balances Understand multistate taxation in the payroll system to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local jurisdictions Assist in the distribution of annual W-2 statements and duplicate copies, as applicable Coordinate inquiries on payroll discrepancies such as timesheet errors or PTO reports Keep up to date on new payroll-related tax law changes and maintain all payroll records in an orderly manner Recognize and follow proper separation of duties, maintain confidential records and work cross-functionally to prepare for annual audit Maintain SOX controls on a per pay period basis; preparing reports for Accounting, Benefits and FP&A on a per-period basis Assist Accounting and Security with any fraudulent payroll checks and resolution of related items Uphold responsibilities relative to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your job function Job Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience with payroll systems (UKG preferred) Ability to recommend solutions using independent judgement on moderately complex issues, work independently or in a team environment Possess strong customer service orientation and high level of accuracy Demonstrated working knowledge of payroll practices Knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour and payroll tax laws and regulations Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and solid Excel skills Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills including cooperativeness, professionalism, and customer service Effective communicator internally and externally with various levels of management Demonstrated adaptability and commitment to teamwork in a rapid work environment Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and attention to detail Ability to maintain and process confidential information Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred Education

Associate degree or equivalent work experience required Physical Demands and Work Environment

Sedentary work with the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Manual tasks and frequent data entry or reading Subject to inside environmental conditions Compensation and Benefits

ComplexCare Solutions offers a competitive salary and benefits package. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives. Base compensation range: $29—$31 USD per hour. The actual base pay offered may vary based on factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographic location, and internal equity.
