Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation: Starting rate $25.00, adjusted based on experience. Benefits: Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e., food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Job Summary The Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all training and specialty program operations for the Mountain Sports School. This role leads new hire orientation, ongoing instructor education, and specialty programming, ensuring the highest standards of guest experience and staff development. The supervisor partners with MSS leadership on hiring, onboarding, quality assurance, and continuous improvement through data analysis. Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Design and execute annual instructor training plans, including new hire orientations, returning staff refreshers, and advanced clinics for certifications (PSIA-AASI) Lead and oversee all on-snow and indoor staff training, including safety protocols, teaching methodology, guest service standards, and use of MSS technology Identify and mentor trainers and clinic leaders; facilitate Train-the-Trainer programs and peer shadowing Support the creation and delivery of specialty training for adaptive, freestyle, race, and youth programs Maintain accurate training records and track staff progress toward certifications and personal development goals Oversee the scheduling and quality of specialty lesson products (e.g., race camps, women’s clinics, freestyle camps, school group specialty days) Develop new specialty programming to support MSS business goals and guest engagement Partner with program managers to ensure alignment and consistency of specialty offerings with MSS standards Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting instructors for winter and summer operations Lead new hire orientation and onboarding, ensuring compliance with resort and industry policies Facilitate a positive onboarding experience, connecting new staff with MSS culture and expectations Monitor instructor and guest feedback; implement quality assurance processes for all programs Track and investigate all Workers’ Compensation claims for the Mountain Sports School, coordinating with MSS leadership to ensure timely documentation, root cause analysis, and follow-up on incidents Support investigation and documentation of other incidents, ensuring accurate and thorough reporting Collaborate with MSS leadership to address guest service concerns and staff performance issues Track, analyze, and report on training participation, specialty program utilization, and guest satisfaction metrics Recommend improvements to training and programming based on data, trends, and industry benchmarks Direct supervision of MSS trainers, specialty program leads, and assigned instructional staff Coordinate with supervisors and program managers to align training and specialty program goals Perform other tasks as assigned Basic Qualifications Minimum of 3 years’ experience in ski/snowboard instruction, training, or program supervision within a resort or snowsports school environment PSIA-AASI Level 3 certification, PSIA-AASI Education Staff, or equivalent instructional/education credential strongly preferred; Level 2 certification with exceptional training experience will be considered Proficient with common business software, scheduling platforms, and instructional technologies (e.g., Flaik, RTP, or similar systems) Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Demonstrated experience developing and leading staff training programs, including new hire orientation and specialty clinics Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills Experience with incident investigation and Workers’ Compensation documentation preferred Proven ability to analyze data and use metrics for continuous improvement Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak business periods Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and guest-focused learning environment Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Human Resources Industries: Education Management Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at PSIA-AASI Western Region by 2x Get notified about new Training Coordinator jobs in
