Overview Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice within the Department of Pharmacy Practice (ambulatory/acute care clinical sites options may include Atlantic Medical Group, Hackensack-Meridian Health, or Valley Medical group). The FDU College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences prepares pharmacists who will provide patient-centered care, advance the pharmacy profession through research and patient and public health advocacy, as well as serve as future health care leaders. The College offers an integrated curriculum and a concurrent Master’s degree program to qualified pharmacy students.

Job Summary This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track appointment (rank and salary commensurate with skills and experience). Faculty members are expected to support the College’s vision through teaching in the didactic and experiential curricula, developing a research agenda within their discipline, and providing service to the College and University.

Responsibilities

Affiliates with a clinical practice site and participates in direct patient care; maintain active interdisciplinary practice at the assigned site.

Educate Fairleigh Dickinson University students, residents (if applicable), and pharmacy staff.

Provide and document pharmacotherapeutic interventions/pharmacy consultations; participate in interdisciplinary rounds where applicable.

Provide patient counseling and medication reconciliation; document medication errors/adverse drug reactions.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives as assigned by the director of pharmacy or clinical supervisor at the clinical site.

Engage in teaching in the didactic curriculum; support student success initiatives; proctor exams; engage in committee work at the College.

Participate in scholarly activities.

Required Qualifications

Have a PharmD degree with a minimum of PGY-1 residency training (PGY-2 preferred).

Demonstrate understanding of academic pharmacy, experiential education, and ACPE accreditation standards related to curriculum and experiential education.

Show a desire to participate in expanding new educational platforms, including integration of technology and active learning.

Demonstrate leadership and initiative in supporting the School’s assessment and accreditation efforts.

Have a vision for the future of pharmacy education as a global enterprise.

Develop a personal philosophy and program of teaching, research and service focused on enriching students and enhancing the profession.

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
