About New City: We are a gospel centered and confessional church with an emphasis on Christian community, exuberant worship, and love of neighbor. We believe that the great commandments and the great commission go hand in hand and seek to make disciples accordingly. At the end of the day, we hope to be a people who deeply love God and one another. Our Philosophy of Corporate Worship: Why do we sing? We sing in response to God for He is worthy of all our praise. We sing for all that He is, all He has done, and all He is doing and is going to do. We sing because music acts as a key that unlocks fountains of worship, allowing us to plumb the depths of our emotions and the heights of our understanding, all to the glory of God! While we believe that worship is more than singing, it is certainly not less than it! How do we sing? We sing in Exaltation of, Expression to, Experience of, Exultation in, and Expectancy of our God! What do we sing? In the words of the Apostle Paul, we sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs: songs that encourage us to make melody to the Lord with our hearts, songs of thankfulness for everything God the Father has done for us and given to us in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and songs that remind us always that the Holy Spirit is in our midst (adapted from Ep. 5:18-20).
