(Fully Remote) - must be able to work across all We are actively looking for a Payroll Specialist that will: Responsibilities: Process biweekly payroll runs and off-cycle payments for employees and independent contractors Review and validate timesheets, deductions, and tax information to ensure accurate pay Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and troubleshooting Maintain payroll records in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner Assist with wage garnishments, benefit and 401(k) deductions, and related reconciliations Support regular audits of payroll data, controls, and processes Collaborate with internal teams including Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to ensure accuracy and alignment across systems Assist with payroll system updates, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of payroll processes Proactively contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and service delivery Requirements 3–5 years of payroll experience in a multi-state, distributed workforce environment and a deep knowledge of payroll tax Familiarity with payroll compliance regulations including wage and hour laws, garnishments, and tax withholdings Hands-on experience using Rippling (or similar systems) preferred Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., FPC, CPP) are a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, tax, and deduction laws.
