to join the Dell Scholars team in Austin, Texas. This is an individual contributor role, based in Austin, Texas, reporting to the Head of Dell Scholars. About The Role

As an

Officer, Dell Scholars Retention , you will work alongside Dell Scholars on their path to earning a bachelor’s degree. You will help design, implement, and manage a scalable, data-driven retention program that includes academic advising, financial aid guidance, and proactive student support. The role requires identifying the causes of student attrition and creating effective solutions that serve a large cohort of over 2,000 Scholars. You’ll work with Scholars both individually and at scale, advising them on educational planning, connecting them to available resources, and helping them stay on track through college. You will also help identify and propose program improvements to enhance student outcomes. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and data-savvy, with strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Primary Responsibilities

Identify and address college transition challenges to help new Scholars stay on track. Guide and onboard new Scholar cohorts, assisting with college selection, educational savings account setup, and required onboarding processes (e.g., school fit assessments, financial literacy education). Provide personalized advising to help Scholars set goals and access needed resources. Analyze student data to identify trends and recommend interventions that improve retention. Deliver programming related to academic success, financial literacy, and support for students on academic probation. Assist Scholars with special circumstances, including financial issues, academic appeals, transfers, and overdue balances. Support high-risk Scholars identified through end-of-term check-ins by coordinating follow-up and targeted assistance. Manage scholarship fund disbursement plans personalized to Scholars’ academic performance. Identify, evaluate, and implement program enhancements that can be scaled to benefit more Scholars. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant student-focused experience (K-12 or higher education). Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to balance brevity and detail. Strategic thinker who can translate plans into effective day-to-day actions. Comfortable working with technology and data to evaluate program impact and improve processes. Strong skills in planning, assessment, time management, attention to detail, and problem solving. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Ability to collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Career Services, Operations, Communications). Capable of working independently and following through on commitments. Experience working in higher education or in student advising roles. Ability to develop and present business cases for new program initiatives.
