Hours: 7:00am to 3:00pm/8:00am to 4:00pm with on-call responsibilities

Summary: The Director Cardiac Services is responsible for ensuring the success of the daily operations at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo related to cardiac services; including working collaboratively in an outcome based multidisciplinary structure. Oversight to ensure the success of Cardiovascular Services through coordination, integration, of invasive diagnostic, non-invasive diagnostic, interventional procedures, surgical procedures and other services deemed critical to yield successful outcomes. Develops, leads and executes on the strategic direction of the Cardiovascular Service Line and its associated revenue, ensuring maximum coordination of patient care, both inpatient and outpatient.

Education

Graduate of accredited professional nursing program

Current RN Licensure in the State of New York

MSN required or in progress with completion in 2 years of hire

Experience

Three (3) or more years of staff nurse experience

5 years progressive supervisory/management experience in a healthcare setting

Minimum five (5) years work experience required with at least three (3) being in the direct program, operational, and administrative management of cardiac services program, cardiac service line, critical care areas or combination of the above

Must have documented and demonstrated experience of taking strategic goals from Senior Management, translating those goals into operational plans, time frames, and delivering on those time frames and goals

Experience in managing surgical and or post-surgical units is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Ability to operationalize plans and meet time frames and goals

Ability to communicate across a wide array of employees and divisions

Knowledge and experience of documenting problems, goals, setting specific plans to achieve changes in behavior, efficiency, program development and/or goals and documented record of success as well as the ability to demonstrate recovery plans when initial goals are not met and/or are unattainable.

Ability to develop and manage budgets

Ability to conceptionalize, lead change, and empirically document those particular goals that have not been met.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
