Overview
Our client, a growing public accounting firm, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager that will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax engagements for a diverse client base, including corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. In this role, you will lead a team, provide strategic tax planning, ensure compliance with all tax regulations, and serve as a key point of contact for clients. Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance and Review:
Oversee and manage the preparation and review of complex tax returns, including federal, state, and local returns for various entities. Ensure all filings are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Client Management and Consulting:
Develop and maintain strong client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor. Provide proactive tax planning and consulting to help clients minimize tax liabilities and achieve their financial goals. Tax Research and Strategy:
Conduct in-depth research on complex tax issues and stay current on changes in tax legislation. Develop and implement effective tax strategies for clients. Team Leadership and Development:
Supervise, mentor, and train tax staff and senior accountants. Review work, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional growth of team members. Audit:
Represent clients during tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, managing the entire process from initial contact to resolution. Business Development:
Participate in firm initiatives to expand client relationships and generate new business. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. A Master of Science in Taxation (MST) is a plus. Certification:
Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is required. Experience:
Progressive experience in a public accounting firm, with a strong focus on tax. Technical Skills:
Thorough knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations; Proficiency in tax preparation and research software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint). How to Apply
